studio view

A view of the studio where I teach, with the piano in a corner of the frame, and tulips glowing in the afternoon light coming through the window during the week of Thanksgiving.

My library of historical vocal pedagogy books is on the left side of the mantel, arranged by type and height. Quite a few arrived in the post from Australia, which makes a lot of sense when you think about it: that's where a whole generation moved after the war from the British Isles—a generation brought up to sing.

Most of my students study in this room during the day, and I also teach at studio space near Carnegie Hall in the evening. Lastly, I also give a number of lessons via Skype and ooVoo. Teaching, research, and writing is my passion.
